This could be a great opportunity for them, and they gladly take it. Having things paid for would help the group with their expenses, especially while lacking in coin or jobs while in the city. Her offer for the group to be sponsored by her so that it’s easier to maneuver about the city as well as paying for a few things the group will need is quickly accepted by Sargis and the group as well. A meal well spent for deals, but so many new things to keep in mind. But as the dinner comes to an end and Valeria seems unwilling to eat the food before her, the Bann stands and leads the group to a place away from the dining room. She mentions jobs like finding a Bann’s missing wife somewhere near Highever or handling some trouble in Denerim. In order to ensure their business together is profitable for both parties the Bann suggests a few jobs that would help the Bann gain favor with the other Banns and magisters so that she could help the citizens better within the city. With this in mind the Bann decides to ask the group to do some work for her. Trying to change topics to something easier for everyone to get a handle on, the group asks about the Bann’s grandson, learning that he is indeed a warrior, but he is known to fight big fights that often make him look good. The Bann also takes the time to mention that she’s working with the best intentions for the citizens, regardless of status within the Empire. In reply the Bann informs everyone about how the Bann isn’t the only one to rule over Jader, but that it is technically split into three parts, with the largest part being controlled by her, one district by the Tevinter Battalion, and one by the Circle of Jader.ĭuring the course of their conversation, Bann Baranti mentions a few people who look favourably upon her, and who would be grateful to receive the help of a group such as the Heartbreaker Gang’s: Bann Lauren, Bann Thursgard, Magister Saliva Remas, Magister Telario, and Magister Arianus. Stories about the wyvern that they slew (which isn’t true in the slightest but he seems to be on a roll) and about fighting the cult and taking the leader down. Talking with the Bann, he tells her about the group’s adventures making sure to tell it in a way that makes everyone look good. Walking towards the dinner table, the group continues conversation mostly helmed by Sargis who seems quite excited to be in such fancy company. Years ago a plague fell upon it which she also helped with by paying researchers to help them. She even took the initiative to create a place within the city where the elves could live in peace forty years ago. Taking the time to talk, the group learns that Bann Baranti has been protecting the city for decades taking care of Jader’s citizens, from the orphans who were harmed by the cult who eventually became priests, to the slaves and elves found within the city. Looking to Bann Baranti, the group can easily see her unhappiness at this information, and she attempts to speak to Adric but he is eventually sent out of the room, giving the group an appraising look then walks off with Yolanda like the group is beneath him. This gets a few whispered comments from the group as they hear about the fact that Adric means to marry this girl. ![]() According to Adric, Yolanda is a merchant’s daughter and is “his for tonight”. ![]() Listening to the conversation, the group learns that the elderly woman is Bann Nicola Baranti, the young man her grandson Adric, and the young woman’s name is Yolanda. She seems to be speaking with a young man in armor who looks quite muscular a warrior of some sort, who seems to have frustrated the old woman with the young woman hanging on his arm. Ushered inside, they are escorted towards an open room where an elderly woman with a cane stands. Stepping out, dressed in their new outfits (with the exception of Alais and Revas who managed to sneak out of the Wanderer without shoes) the group walks through the opened gates, past the guards and to the front door where Bando the dwarf greats them. The carriage arrives, pulling up to the Bann’s home and the gate in front of it.
